THIRD DIVISION HAPPENINGS
THIRD DIVISION HOLDS
"MINI-FESTIVAL"
On Friday, January 27, 2012 forty-four Sir Knights from six Commanderies in the Third Divison met at Covert Commandery #43 and conferred the Illustrious Order of the Red Cross and the Order of Malta on nine candidates representing five Commanderies. The conferring of eighteen Templar Orders in one night will go a long way in helping the Third Division meet its membership goals for this Templar year. The following Commanderies participated with the number of candidates in parenthesis:
Cincinnati #3 (3)
Hanselmann #16
Highland #31 (1)
Wilmington #37 (3)
Hamilton #41 (1)
Covert #43 (1)
Every Commandery that came out for this event contributed to the success of this Third Divison event and it could not have been accomplished without the outstanding cooperation of all the Commanderies involved.
SK Dale Olson, Eminent Commander of Covert Commandery #43 and degree director for the evening would like to thank everyone who participated in this event and helped to make it an outstanding success.
Pictured below are the Third Division's nine newest Knights of Malta.

This little trick or treater made it all worthwhile.

Ten years ago on a beautiful September morning our lives were changed forever by a series of deadly terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and a rural field in Western Pennsylvania. Two thousand nine hundred seventy seven of our citizens died on that Tuesday morning. That tragic event pulled together a spirit of patriotism in this country which is still felt today.
The Sir Knights of the Third Division, in a show of that spirit of patriotism, held a Memorial Service to pay tribute to the men and women who lost their lives in this tragedy. As you review the pictures of the Service, I'm sure you will be taken back to September 11, 2001, remembering, as I am, where you were when you heard about the attacks and the emotions that were felt by all of us that day. The following Commanderies participated in the ceremony: Cincinnati #3, Miami #22, Hamilton #41, Covert #43 and Middletown #71.
A Memorial was placed and "Taps" was played at the exact time each plane crashed, 8:46 (American Airlines Flight 11), 9:03 (United Airlines Flight 175), 9:37 (American Airlines Flight 77) and 10:03 (United Airlines Flight 93).
The Sir Knights of the Third Division salute the Memorial.
